A little amusement

I was sent this last week and have watched it a good few times since then. Actually it's pretty much a fact that if you want to laugh, you should watch this: Hope it makes your Monday a little more amusing! Lucky

Where's the wine glass

Fact: drinking wine in the UK makes housework more fun! And while unloading the dishwasher I like to play a little game called: "where's the wine-glass!" Lucky

London bus drivers

Are having a laugh - fact! For the third time this week I missed my early bus, and today, despite leaving a few minutes earlier and running to the bus stop, the early bus ignored my frantically flailing arms, indicated himself back into the traffic, and headed to the next stop. Well I thought two could play this game - I ran after the bus, to the next bus stop, where it proceeded to drive off again! I drew the line at two bus stops, and decided to cut my losses. I'm in two minds about going for the early bus tomorrow - I guess it will depend on how many times I hit snooze... But if you see a half-awake body trailing behind a bus, it could be me! Lucky

Musical or a show?

Did you know: The longest running musical in the West End, and the World, is Les Miserables , which in 2010 celebrated it's 25th anniversary!  While the longest running show in the West End, and again the World, is Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap , which is now in it's 60th year! Lucky

Honest Bob

On this day in 1980 Honest Bob won 57 of the 80 black seats to become Zimbabwe's first black president. He said this: "I wish to assure you that there can never be any return to the state of armed conflict which existed before our commitment to peace and the democratic process of election under the Lancaster House agreement." - Robert Mugabe Wonder if he still feels the same way? Lucky

Spring along the Thames

On a lovely spring day, such as this afternoon - not so much this morning, when it rained during my tennis game - a little wander along the Thames Towpath from Putney to Wandsworth Town just made sense!  According to: www.thames-path.org.uk "The path [from the London Eye] continues past County Hall, with views of the Houses of Parliment over the river, past modern offices at Vauxhall. The path then heads "inland" past the remains of Battersea Power Station then on through the attractive Battersea Park. The path continues from the park past modern apartments towards Wandsworth. There is some more "inland" walking round Wandsworth, then into Wandsworth Park and into Putney, the end of the walk." The path doesn't always run right next to the river, but if you have to deviate onto the road, the rule of thumb is that you are walking pretty much parallel to it!  Enjoy the walk :) Lucky

Fact: I had no idea how great curries were before I came to the UK! Now I even try something a little different (and add it to my list of 'like' curries! Lucky
